Hi, my name is Livie Love.
I’m a 5-year-old Armenian Gampr living with my owner at a shelter in Pittsburgh. We’ve been experiencing homelessness for more than two years, and life has been filled with uncertainty. But one thing has never changed: the love we have for each other.
I’m family, a source of comfort and a reason to keep moving forward.
One morning, my owner noticed I was struggling to urinate. When he looked closer, he saw blood and knew something was wrong. He wanted to get me veterinary care, but with limited resources, he couldn’t afford the cost on his own.
That’s when someone told him about Feeding Pets of the Homeless.
He went online and completed an Emergency Veterinary Care application. After I was approved for assistance, an appointment was scheduled so I could get the care I needed.
The veterinarian determined that I had a urinary tract infection and prescribed antibiotics to help me recover. Thankfully, I was able to return to the shelter with my owner and begin feeling better.

Getting help meant I could receive the treatment I needed. For my owner, it also brought something that can be difficult to hold onto during uncertain times: hope.
