Hi, my name is Duke.
I’m a 6-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. My sister and I live with our dad in a Salvation Army shelter. I love when he takes us on walks and gives us tummy rubs.![]()
One day, I stopped feeling like myself. I didn’t want to eat or play, and I was vomiting and having diarrhea. My dad was really worried, but he did not have the money to take me to a vet.![]()
At the shelter, he found a list of resources posted in the dining hall. That is where he learned about Feeding Pets of the Homeless. He filled out an application, and after speaking with a case manager, I was approved to be seen.![]()
At the clinic, the vet ran tests to rule out parvovirus. I was given fluids and an anti-nausea injection while they continued diagnostics. The doctor found that I had a stomach ulcer and sent me home with probiotics and medication to help me heal.![]()
Now I am resting with my dad and starting to feel better each day. I can’t wait to get back to playing with him again.![]()
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $1475 towards Duke’s care.![]()
A sweet note from Duke's dad: "Thank you so much. I have been absolutely terrified of being unable to afford Duke’s care. You are all angels. I cannot thank you enough."
