Why does Feeding Pets of the Homeless accept Stock?

Stock fundraising is a  critical donation revenue driver for nonprofit organizations like Feeding Pets of the Homeless. Here are several reasons why:

-Your support helps pet companions receive lifesaving medical treatment.

-Your kindness keeps pets and people together.

-Your generosity provides pet food to hungry furry family members.

With over 60% of Americans owning stock and billions in stock donated to US charities every year, stock donations can make a wide-reaching impact through philanthropy. Studies show that nonprofits that accept noncash assets typically grow 50% faster than those that do not and they grow 66% faster when they accept non cash securities such as stock.

Donating stock is also one of the most tax-efficient ways for individuals to support causes that matter to them. We are excited about what the future holds in the crypto and blockchain space, and believe that we’ve just scratched the surface of its true fundraising potential.

Which stocks do you accept?

We currently accept publicly traded, domestic common stock.

We are continually in the process of adding support for new assets to donate, so please check back soon for more giving options.

Yes! Stock donations are one of the most tax-efficient ways to give to charity. Your stock donation is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law; if you pay taxes in the U.S. By making a charitable gift, you may also be eligible to significantly reduce what you would otherwise owe in capital gains taxes.

“These people and all those who donate to them are Saints. My dog General had an injury to his eye which required it to be enucleated. After some searching, I found Feeding Pets of the Homeless and after speaking with them and providing the required paperwork General was scheduled an appointment at a nearby pet hospital that same day and surgery shortly after and is now doing great again. My current living situation hasn’t and won’t always be this way and as soon as I’m able I’ll definitely be paying it forward to help someone else in a similar situation. Thank you, Feeding Pets of the Homeless!”
