Find a Pet Food Donation Site

Our pet food donation site volunteers support our objective of collecting pet food and pet supplies. They are working with pet food providers who have agreed to distribute pet food in those communities.

Make a Donation

Your donation can make the lives of these pets a little easier. Each day is a struggle for those experiencing homelessness, and their pets have little recourse. We are their voice, and you can be their hero.

Evidence shows that animal companionship is fortifying and contributes to the emotional well-being of people experiencing homelessness, including encouraging owners to obtain sobriety, leave abusive relationships, and avoid incarceration.

Hi, I’m Geronimo.I’m a 4-year-old Pit Bull–Blue Heeler mix, and I live on the streets with my dad. We move from city to city, always trying to find a safer, better life. To my dad, I’m everything: his best friend, protector, and companion. While we were in Chicago, my dad found some friends staying in a place called Tent City, near the railroad tracks. It’s a small community where people experiencing homelessness try to help one another. One morning during a walk, another dog rushed at us to protect his space. I was bitten on my legs and back before the situation could be stopped. My dad cleaned my wounds the best he could, but he was worried they might get infected. He brought me to a local vet clinic, but he couldn’t afford the care I needed. The clinic gave him a list of resources, and that’s how he found Feeding Pets of the Homeless. After a phone interview with a case manager, I was approved for help. I received wound care, antibiotics and pain medication. It was a huge relief for both of us.Now I’m healing next to my dad, right where I belong.Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $545 toward my care.A message from my dad:“...you really came through for my dog. I can’t even put into words what that means. He’s family and when he hurts, I hurt. I was really out here walking around these streets thinking I wasn’t going to help him because I didn’t have the money. Thanks to you and all the people over there at Feeding Pets of the Homeless, my fam is ok. God bless.” ... See MoreSee Less
