As an Individual

Host a pet food drive at your school, church or business and donate the proceeds to one of Feeding Pets of the Homeless ®Pet Food Providers.  Contact us and we’ll help you make your event successful.

Like the young boy in the photo instead of giving gifts make a donation in the name of the person celebrating. We’ll mail them an acknowledgement.

Start a Birthday fundraiser on Facebook it’s easy and the funds come directly to Feeding Pets of the Homeless®.

Enlisting a Donation Site:

  • Commit to finding 2 new pet food donation sites in your town. (Businesses)
  • Commit to finding 2 new pet food provider sites in your town. (Food banks, soup kitchens, church pantries, homeless shelters)
  • Link to sign up

Volunteer:

  • Contact local Food Banks, Homeless Shelters and Soup Kitchens to volunteer your time separating and distributing pet food donations.
  • Visit your local homeless communities and let them know of the resources available to them from Pets of the Homeless. (Emergency veterinary care for their animals, pet food provider sites where they can get donated pet food for their pet).
  • We can always use office assistance, if you live near our headquarters in Carson City, Nevada.

Fundraising:

  • You can start a crowdfunding campaign for Feeding Pets of the Homeless®Follow this link to learn more.  Then ask your friends and family to donate to your campaign.

Donate through Your Community Foundation

If you are a member and donor of a local community foundation you can request that your charitable giving be directed to Feeding Pets of the Homeless®.  Here are a few that list us as a nonprofit partner.

Charitable IRA Rollover

If you are 70 1/2 or older, the Charitable IRA Rollover allows you to make charitable donations directly from your IRA to qualified charities like Feeding Pets of the Homeless®.  In doing so, you can satisfy all or part of the required annual minimum distribution without having to count the transfers as income for federal or state tax purposes.

If you are interested in donating to Feeding Pets of the Homeless® through the Charitable IRA Rollover, simply provide your IRA administrator with our full name, Feeding Pets of the Homeless®, and our tax ID number: 26-3010540

Donate via your Donor-Advised Fund

Simply recommend a gift to Feeding Pets of the Homeless® through your donor-advised fund using DAF Direct. You’ll be asked to pick the organization to which you’d like to contribute and enter the amount. When you’re finished, you’ll click “Next” to complete your recommendation.

If you have a donor-advised fund that does not participate in DAF Direct, just ask your financial advisor to designate a gift to Feeding Pets of the Homeless®. And please let us know when you do, so we can say thank you!

As a Business or Agency

Be a Pet Food Donation Site:

  • Set up a donation bin in your office, store or business.
  • Collect pet food and supplies donations.
  • Connect with a local food bank, soup kitchen, church pantry or homeless shelter center near your business to take your collected items periodically.

Be a Pet Food Provider: (Food Banks, Homeless Shelters and Soup Kitchens)

  • Work with donation sites in your area to pick up their donations.

Emergency Veterinary Care

  • Hospitals and clinics are welcome to join our network so that we know whom to call when we have a case in your community.  Call headquarters with questions.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless® Wellness Clinics Program:

  • Feeding Pets of the Homeless® provides sponsorships to help defer the costs for wellness clinics that provide immunizations, de-worming, flea/tick care, spay/neutering and other care.
  • We are looking for volunteer veterinarians and tech assistants to go to places where the homeless congregate and administer veterinary care to pets that belong to homeless people.
  • Guidelines and application are available by calling our headquarters.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless Sleeping Crate Project:

  • Feeding Pets of the Homeless® will ship collapsible reusable sleeping crates, to emergency and homeless shelters that are offering assistance for people that have pets.
