Hi, my name is Godzilla.
I’m a 5-month-old short-haired kitten living with my mom, who is currently experiencing homelessness.
About two months ago, my mom spotted me struggling against the current in a river near where she was staying. She grabbed a stick, reached out to me and managed to pull me from the water to safety.
That’s how we found each other.
After rescuing me, my mom gave me a bath and noticed something was seriously wrong with one of my eyes. It was red and severely swollen, and she worried that without veterinary care, I could lose my vision.
Determined to get me help, she reached out to her social worker, who gave her a list of resources. That’s how she found Feeding Pets of the Homeless.
My mom completed an Emergency Veterinary Care application, and I was approved for assistance. At my veterinary appointment, I received an exam, bloodwork, vaccinations and medication for my eye.
Unfortunately, my injured eye couldn’t be saved and needed to be surgically removed. Two weeks later, I returned for the procedure, and thankfully, everything went well.
Now I’m back with the person who pulled me from that river and gave me a family, recovering by her side.
