Feeding Pets of the Homeless - Success Story Blue

Success Story: Blue

Hi there, my name is Blue, and I’ve got quite the tale to tell you. I’m an 11-year-old Pitbull, and life hasn’t always been easy for me and my human mom. 🐾
For the past two years, we’ve been living in our vehicle, navigating the streets of Los Angeles, California. It’s been tough, but we’ve stuck together through thick and thin. My mom receives help from disability and food stamps to keep us going, but recently, things took a turn for the worse.
I started developing these strange masses on my leg, growing faster than I could understand. They were painful and kept bleeding, making it hard for me to move around like I used to. My mom was worried sick about me and reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless for help.
They didn’t hesitate and before I knew it I found myself at the vet’s office getting examined. It wasn’t good news – my leg was beyond repair, and the only option was to amputate it. But here’s the thing – my mom couldn’t afford the surgery. We faced a tough choice: either find a way to pay for it or say goodbye forever.
The cost of surgery was too high for Feeding Pets of the Homeless to help alone and days passed with no word from other organizations to help, and it felt like time was slipping away. But then, something amazing happened. Our case manager refused to give up on me. She reached out to the vet, trying to find a solution. And you know what? They agreed to a price that Feeding Pets of the Homeless could cover. My mom’s relief was palpable, and mine too, in my own way.
Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, I underwent successful surgery. Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $1,700 towards my care, and it made all the difference. I can’t put into words how grateful I am. You see, your donations aren’t just dollars – they’re a lifeline for pets like me.
Now, I may have only three legs, but let me tell you, I’ve got a whole lot of heart. I’m still here, wagging my tail, and enjoying every moment with my mom. So please, keep supporting Feeding Pets of the Homeless. You never know whose life you might save – it could be a scrappy old Pitbull like me, or any other furry friend in need. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Woof!
