Success Story: Apollo

Success Story: Apollo

A man reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless for his 7-year-old male Great Dane, Apollo.
Apollo’s companion is currently living in a motel until he secures housing through HUD-VASH. The motel is being paid for by the VA.
He is disabled and pending disability. He has transportation and does not receive any other assistance.
Apollo had been having diarrhea and vomiting for several days. An intake was completed and homeless verification was provided.
Apollo’s exam was approved at a local pet emergency center.
Following an exam, bloodwork, medication and x rays, Apollo was sent home to rest. No diagnosis was reported.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $895.00 towards Apollo’s care.
Unfortunately, Apollo’s companion reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless again about Apollo peeing blood.
An exam was approved at a local animal hospital. Following the exam, urinalysis and medication it was determined that Apollo has a prostate infection and needs emergency surgery to complete neuter.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $915 towards Apollo’s care and emergency neuter.
