Over 1,500 pounds of food provided to pets of the homeless in Carson City.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Reno Corvette Club delivered 1,655 pounds of pet food and supplies valued at $3,645 to Feeding Pets of the Homeless, which were distributed to Friends in Service Helping (FISH), a Carson City-based social services organization and pet food provider site for Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless provides pet food to homeless individuals and their pets locally, as well nationally. The non-profit also provides pet supplies, emergency veterinary care and wellness clinics to companion animals of homeless individuals across the United States, as well as crates for homeless shelters to encourage those with companion animals to come in from the cold.

For the last five years, the Reno Corvette Club has held an annual pet food drive to support the efforts of Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

“A pet’s love is unconditional,” Howard Lewis, Reno Corvette Club President, said. “Our club embraces that love with our pet food donations.”

Genevieve Frederick, founder and president of Feeding Pets of the Homeless, said the 1,655 pounds of pet food they delivered to FISH will ensure many pets in Carson City will not go hungry this holiday season.

“We are grateful for the support the Reno Corvette Club has provided us since 2015,” Frederick said. “Feeding Pets of the homeless provides emotional support, comfort, love, safety and security, especially in these uncertain times. We have continued to work diligently to provide resource to the homeless and keep them and their companion animals together.”
