Pets of the Homeless helped a beautiful sweet Chihuahua Dachshund named Weta who was having pregnancy complications and had delivered 2 live and 2 stillborn pups, but still had more to come. She was rushed to the veterinarian where surgery was performed to remove the puppies that were unfortunately deceased. Weta had become septic and was hospitalized. Weta’s previous owner had bred her numerous times.
Weta’s owner, who is homeless and lives in a tent in a riverbed rode his bike to visit Weta every day for a week. It is with a heavy heart we share that Weta’s kidneys failed and in order to prevent her from suffering anymore, her owner had to have her euthanized.
Her owner will share Weta’s story with the homeless community about the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Run with the angels, Weta.
