“The Vet in the Red Caboose”
He heals and helps all animals with kindness.
Like Snug in his left eye who was facing blindness.
He helped and went in to take out the pain.
Now, we have hope and everything to gain.
Yes this vet will help any animal at all.
No matter how big or no matter how small.
From Smokey the Bear to Old Mother Goose, we call him “the Vet in the Red Caboose.”

This poem was written by Laurie Ross, a homeless woman living in her car.

Laurie called to ask for assistance from Pets of the Homeless when her little Chihuahua, Snug, got into a dog fight.  The veterinarian had to remove his eye.  After the surgery she called again say, “Thank you, and that Dr. Henriksen was amazing.  It’s in his blood & heart. He has a red caboose, beautifully set up in Occidental, CA.”
