Hello, my name is Xena and I’m an 8-year-old Pointer Mix living out of my mom’s car, experiencing homelessness in Oregon.
One day my ear blew up to three times its size, and my mom was worried. She knew something needed to be done so she contacted an organization called 211. When my mom called, she was given the number to another organization, Feeding Pets of the Homeless, that helps pets in need. When my mom called, a quick intake was done. She provided our homelessness verification, and their team went to work to find a veterinarian in our area. We were able to call and schedule an appointment.
During my appointment, it was determined that I had a bad ear hematoma and needed immediate surgery. Surgery was done that very same day and once I recovered, I was given a party hat and sent on my way.
Thank you to Feeding Pets of the Homeless for contributing $1,026 towards my care.
My mom would like to say thank you from the bottom of her heart and that I’m already doing much better.
Donate today to continue to keep pets and their people together.
