🐾 Shadow’s Story: A Journey to Healing 🐾

Shadow, an 8-year-old German Shepherd, has spent over three years living in a van with his mom in Auburn, CA. Together, they’ve faced the challenges of homelessness, always looking out for one another. Recently, Shadow’s mom noticed him pawing at a growing mass on his neck. Concerned it might worsen, she knew he needed help.

A friend told her about Feeding Pets of the Homeless, and she made the call. After completing the intake and homeless verification process, Shadow was cleared to see a vet. The first attempt at care was a setback—Shadow was stable, and the clinic was too busy. But his case manager persisted, ensuring he got the care he needed.

Shadow’s surgery went smoothly, and with Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributing $1,093 toward his care, he’s now back to his playful self. No more pawing or scratching—just enjoying life with his mom.

His mom shares her gratitude: “Bless you all for what you do for families like ours.”
