Hi there, I’m Sadie May, a 9-year-old female Boxer. Life has been a bit challenging for my human and me recently. We’ve been experiencing homelessness, but we managed to scrape together enough funds to stay in a motel for a few nights here in Florida.
I’ve been having trouble with my left eye for a while now—there was swelling, and a gray cloudiness made it hard for me to see. My human was really worried and reached out to Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue Inc. for help. Unfortunately, they couldn’t assist us at the time but kindly referred us to Feeding Pets of The Homeless.
My human contacted them right away, and after going through an intake process and verifying our situation, they approved an exam for me. The vet told us that the best course of action was to remove my left eye. My human was a bit upset by the news but relieved that I wouldn’t be in pain anymore.
The vet’s office was incredibly kind and lowered the fee, making it possible for Feeding Pets of The Homeless to cover the cost of my surgery. Thanks to their generosity, I’m now recovering and feeling so much better. It’s been quite an adjustment, but I’m so grateful to have had the surgery.
Feeding Pets of The Homeless contributed $1,467 towards my care.
Client Thank You:
“Thank you so, so, so much for what y’all have done for her and me. She seems to be doing well, and my level of appreciation is beyond the words that can be expressed.”
