I was hit by a car, and I have a very badly mangled leg.

My dad called Feeding Pets of the Homeless for assistance so I can see a vet.

An intake interview was completed, and my dad was able to take me to the hospital for diagnostics.

Following the exam, I was given pain meds and sedation so that X-rays could be completed.

It was discovered that I had a severely broken foot and massive wounds to my entire leg.

The doctor thought it would be best to amputate my leg due to the severely broken foot and the injury to my leg. The outcome was poor that the wounds would heal due to the severity.

The leg amputation estimate was $4,000.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless had already paid $1,200 for my diagnostics and overnight stay in the hospital not leaving very much funding for a surgery.

The doctor I had said I would need surgery within 24 hours due to the open wounds.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless provided many resources to my dad but he was not having much luck in that direction.

The doctor spoke to my dad about euthanasia the following day if he could not come up with the money we needed.

The following day the doctor called Feeding Pets of the Homeless and informed my case manager that she could not euthanize me, and she had reached out to a friend at the local Humane Society and asked them to allow her to use the surgical facility after hours and she would donate her time so that I could get the care I needed.

I had my surgery that night and I am so very grateful to the caring staff at Feeding Pets of the Homeless and to the wonderful doctor for not giving up on me and donating her time.
