Hi there, I’m Penny! 🐾 I’m a three-month-old Chi-Yorkie living with my dad on the streets of San Francisco, CA. Life’s been tough, but we stick together through it all. We’ve been getting by with food stamps (which don’t cover pet food). A few days ago, I started feeling really sick—I couldn’t eat, and I kept throwing up. My dad was so worried about me that he reached out to the SPCA for help.
The SPCA was kind enough to give my dad the contact information for Feeding Pets of the Homeless, and that’s when things started to look up for me. After completing an intake, Feeding Pets of the Homeless approved an exam for me at the vet. It turns out I had parvo—a pretty serious illness—but the doctor said I was still cheerful and strong, so they thought I could get better with outpatient care.
Thanks to the generosity of Feeding Pets of the Homeless’ supporters, I received the medicine I needed, and my dad didn’t have to worry about the cost. They contributed $1,279 towards my care! Now, I’m on the mend and feeling so much better. My tail is wagging again, and my dad and I are so grateful for the kindness of everyone who helped us. 💕
