Hi, I’m Lucky Girl.
I’m a 1-year-old Pit Bull living in the car with my mom in Yuba City. We’ve been experiencing homelessness for five months now, but through it all, we stick together. I help keep her calm and comforted during the toughest days.
One morning, my paw started to swell up badly. It hurt to walk, and soon there was pus coming from my pads. My mom couldn’t find a visible wound, and I didn’t want anyone touching it. She knew something was wrong but didn’t know how to afford a vet visit.
That’s when she reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless.
After a brief intake, we were approved to see a vet. They found a foxtail buried deep in my paw that had started to cause an infection. The vet numbed my foot, removed it gently, and provided me with medication and bandages to help me heal.
Now I’m back to being my happy, bouncy self, bringing smiles to my mom again.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $325 toward my care.
A note from my mom: “Lucky Girl is doing so much better than before, and I just wanted to share with you (this photo)
. Thank you and your organization so much for helping me with her!”
