I’m a 3-year-old Husky living with my mom in our car in a safe parking lot. We were evicted from our apartment, and we’ve been searching for housing ever since. Through it all, my mom has been my rock, and I’ve been hers.
At a dog park, I was attacked by another dog and suffered a bite on my leg that needed stitches. My mom rushed me to a local urgent care, but she didn’t have the finances to cover the bill. The vet gave her a list of resources to try, and she reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless.
After a quick phone interview, I was approved for help. I was hospitalized, underwent soft tissue surgery and returned to my mom with an e-collar and pain medication. The doctor even donated some of his services to lower the bill.
Now I’m back with my mom, healing and safe.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $397 toward my care.
A note from my mom:
“Thank you so much for helping Kira so quickly. She is out of surgery and recovering. You helped save her life and I can’t thank you enough.”
