A homeless woman who lives outside on the streets called Pets of the Homeless about her 5 year old male Doberman-Vizsla, Dutch, who had a seizure.
Pets of the Homeless approved an examination at a new veterinarian who was excited and motivated to help. We approved lab work, CBC, internal parasite and giardia tests. Dutch was diagnosed and treated for an internal parasite, and we assisted to update his rabies vaccination.
The technician did not think the parasite was the cause of the seizure. They think it may have been a reaction to a chemical that had been applied to a grass area at a truck stop that she was at with Dutch.
