Hi, I’m Darling.
I’m a 1-year-old Terrier mix, and I live in a car near the beach with my mom. We’ve been experiencing homelessness ever since she aged out of foster care. Even though life has been hard, we stick together. We get food and clothes through a kind outreach group called My Friend’s Place.
One day, something scary happened. My paw got stuck in an escalator while we were out. In my mom’s attempt to free me, it got badly cut. She wrapped the wound as best as she could and rushed me to the nearest pet hospital.
But once we got there, she didn’t know how she’d afford the care I needed.
That’s when My Friend’s Place gave her a list of nonprofits to contact. She reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless, and after a quick phone application, we were approved for financial assistance.
At the hospital, I received a pain injection, sedation and wound repair. The vet wrapped me up in bandages, gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way with an e-collar to help me heal.
Now I’m back with my mom, safe and recovering.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $1,499 toward my care.
Your support made this possible.
Because of you, I’m still here with the person who loves me most. Please donate to help more pets like me stay with their families through the hardest times.
