Hello, my name is Cookie.
I am an 8-yr old domestic short hair. My mom and I are currently experiencing homelessness, and we move from motel to motel. We did have a house we were living in, but the landlord had us move out to do renovations and then up the rent to a price we couldn’t afford. My mom isn’t working due to her disabilities; we are living off social security.
My mom looks to me for support; I know when she is upset, and I love to cheer her up.
One day, while we were cuddling, she noticed I had an abscess on my chin and that it was hurting me. I would cry whenever I was touched. She took me to a local vet who told her it needed to be surgically removed. Worried about how she would pay for it, my mom started searching the internet for help. That’s when she found Feeding Pets of the Homeless. My mom did an interview with a case manager, and I was approved for surgery. At the vet, I was sedated and got a pain injection. The doctor removed my tumor and updated my vaccinations. Now I am back with my mom, recovering from surgery.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $758 towards Cookie’s care.
