Success Story “Blackie”

Pets of the Homeless received a call from a homeless woman who lives in a tent in the San Diego, CA area with her 6-year-old cat, Blackie.  Blackie had terrible nasal congestion.  Pets of the Homeless approved an examination.

After the veterinarian provided a thorough exam, it was noted Blackie had multiple issues going on.  The veterinarian recommended and we started with a Feline FIV test which was thankfully negative.  Blackie also had fleas, allergies, dermatitis, a mass in his belly, and dental disease on top of his upper respiratory infection.  We assisted with x-rays, testing and medications.  We approved our remaining available amount towards dental surgery.
