Hi, my name is Buddy.
I’m a 1-year-old domestic short hair cat living in a car with my mom. We have been experiencing homelessness for about a year and are doing our best to rebuild our lives together.
One day after being outside, my tail started swelling badly and I cried out in pain whenever my mom touched it. She was very worried and saved enough money to take me to an emergency veterinarian. After X-rays, the vet discovered my tail was fractured in several places.
Because the injury was so severe, the veterinarian recommended amputating my tail.
My mom did not know how she could afford the surgery I needed. That is when she reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless. After a brief application and verification process, I was approved for assistance.
With approval, the veterinarian was able to move forward with my surgery. I am now recovering and learning to adapt without my tail, but the most important thing is that I am still by my mom’s side.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $1,100 toward my care.
A message from my mom:
“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Buddy is doing much better. If he would not have had your help to get surgery, he could have died.”
Your support helps the next pet like Buddy receive lifesaving care when their family has nowhere else to turn.
