It’s an effort to keep Carson City safe from pet infectious diseases while helping those down on their luck.
“It is very important to keep our community safe from diseases that are transmitted by animals. Especially pets that are owned by homeless people because those pets are on the streets. To prevent parvo and rabies from spreading, we feel that this is a way to give back to our community,” said Pets of the Homeless founder Genevieve Frederick. It is the third year thrift store Friends in Service Helping has offered the space for the clinic.
Seventy-three pets were seen by veterinarians from Sierra Veterinary Hospital and Timberline Animal Hospital.
