Full hearts.We are excited to share that our next Free Pet Wellness Clinic will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FISH in Carson City.In partnership with FISH (Friends in Service Helping), Riverside Veterinary 775-246-5392, CASI, Nevada Humane Society and Carson Tahoe Health, this clinic will provide free vaccinations, wellness exams, spay and neuter vouchers, microchipping, dog licensing, pet food, supplies and flu shots for pet parents.Services are available on a first come, first served basis for the first 120 pets. Hi, I’m Kira.I’m a 3-year-old Husky living with my mom in our car in a safe parking lot. We were evicted from our apartment, and we’ve been searching for housing ever since. Through it all, my mom has been my rock, and I’ve been hers.At a dog park, I was attacked by another dog and suffered a bite on my leg that needed stitches. My mom rushed me to a local urgent care, but she didn’t have the finances to cover the bill. The vet gave her a list of resources to try, and she reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless.After a quick phone interview, I was approved for help. I was hospitalized, underwent soft tissue surgery and returned to my mom with an e-collar and pain medication. The doctor even donated some of his services to lower the bill.Now I’m back with my mom, healing and safe.Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $397 toward my care.A note from my mom:"Thank you so much for helping Kira so quickly.
