During October, Michael Hohl Motor Company in Carson City held a pet food drive to fill a pickup truck for the national nonprofit Pets of the Homeless.

This year the public, employees and customers filled the new Chevy pickup on the showroom floor with more than 2,480 pounds (1.24 tons) of pet food that has a fair market value of $4,740.

The Friends in Service Helping van picked up the pet food. All pet food donations will be distributed to low income and homeless in the Carson area at FISH, 138 E. Long Street, Carson City.
