Hi, my name is Sammy.
I’m a 5-year-old German Shepherd mix living with my mom in a shed without utilities. We are currently experiencing homelessness, but we have each other. My mom is my best friend, and I do my best to protect her. My favorite things are going to the park and getting belly rubs.
One day during a walk, I got away from my mom and was hit by a car.
She was terrified she was going to lose me.
After searching for help, she found Feeding Pets of the Homeless. She completed an application, was connected with a case manager, and I was approved for veterinary care.
At the clinic, the veterinarian performed X-rays and blood work. The results showed I had a fractured femur and would need surgery to repair it.
My mom was relieved to know there was a way to help me.
The doctor successfully repaired my leg, and I was sent back to her with pain medication and antibiotics to recover. Every day I am getting a little stronger, and I look forward to the day I can run and play again.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $2,000 toward my care.
📩 A message from my mom:
“I just wanted to thank you and your organization for all the help you provided. I can’t express how grateful I am. He’s all I’ve got, and it’s a blessing to know that there are such kindhearted people who care and go out of their way to help people like myself who are stuck in this kind of situation. Once again, thank you so much, and God bless you.”
Your support helps pets like me receive lifesaving veterinary care and stay with the people who love us most.
Lend a paw to help the next pet in need!
