Apollo, a 7-year old male Great Dane and his companion are living in a motel paid for by Veterans Affairs. Apollo had been having diarrhea and vomiting for several days. Following an exam, bloodwork, medication and x rays, Apollo was sent home to rest. No diagnosis was reported. Unfortunately, Apollo’s companion reached out to Feeding Pets of the Homeless again about Apollo peeing blood. An exam was approved at a local animal hospital. Following the exam, urinalysis and medication it was determined that Apollo has a prostate infection and emergency surgery to neuter was performed.
