Taking it to the Streets with Lori and Shira called Feeding Pets of the Homeless® seeking assistance for a dog named Yohan, a 2-year-old retriever mix, who had burns. His guardian lives in a tent in a riverbed in Southern California. An ember caught the tent on fire and Yohan would not leave until his guardian woke up.
Yohan suffered burns on his face and rear. Feeding Pets of the Homeless approved an emergency examination. We also approved treatment to have Yohan’s burned areas shaved and cleaned up. He was given a pain injection, antibiotics and burn spray for continued treatment. We assisted with $189.
Donations were collected by Taking it to the Streets to put Yohan and his guardian up in a motel for four nights while he was recovering.
Yohan saved his guardian’s life and is a true hero!!
