Feeding Pets of the Homeless
Gives a voice
For care and kindness
To those with no choice.
How did this happen?
We don’t know
Where do they come from?
Where do they go?
Homeless wanderings all alone
Some have pets they call their own
How do they manage?
What do they eat?
Missions and shelters offer retreat
No pets allowed though
Where do they go?
What do they eat?
No matter the reason
There is hope for a meal
For the furry friend
Who walks at their heel.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless
Gives a voice
For care and kindness
To those with no choice.
Worry for self gives way to the friend
Loyal and true to the bitter end.
No shelter, no stay
It’s under the bridge today.
Flowers and sunshine
Showers and snow
There is no home
No place to go
A meal for their furry friend
And care for its health
There is hope and a deal
For the one who walks at their heel.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless
Gives a voice
For care and kindness
To those with no choice
Friends with fur heal
Furry friends give
Friends with fur follow
Wherever they’re lead
They wander together
From here to there
Hoping for something
The two can share.
Home becomes that furry friend
Who is loyal and true
They ask nothing
But need care and food, too.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless
Gives a voice
For care and kindness
To those with no choice
