A woman has been homeless for two years in Eureka, CA living in her van with her companion animal. Precious is her seven-year-old German Shepard mix. She receives food stamps and is unemployed. A friend recommended Feeding Pets of the Homeless® to her after they had received assistance. Precious was having some difficulty urinating and would whine when touched.
After verifying her homelessness, an exam was approved at a partner animal wellness center. Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $241 for care that included an exam, urinalysis, medications and antibiotics. Precious was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection.
Pets of the Homeless received discounts in the amount of $27.
