Success Story – Patches

A homeless man in the San Diego, California area called Pets of the Homeless. He has been homeless for the past 12 months and currently stays at a shelter. The only source of income he receives is food stamps. He was referred to us by PAWS. He informed Pets of the homeless that his one-year-old terrier mix, Patches was experiencing diarrhea for the past three days.
We approved an exam at a participating network veterinarian.
The doctor recommended and we approved a parvo test upfront. After the test came back the doctor told us Patches did not have parvo. They recommended and we approved: lab work, fecal test, fluids, injections, and medications. We spent a total of $260.35.
