Success Story: Garfield

A woman has been homeless for about 18 months and lives in a tent in the Van Nuys, CA area. She heard about us through Animal Tears Rescue when her cat, Garfield, was hit by a car and dragging her leg. We verified her homelessness with a pastor of a local church and we approved an examination at a local partner veterinary clinic.

After the exam, the doctor recommended pelvic fracture repair surgery.  We approved this treatment which included: iv catheter placement, iv fluids, anesthesia induction, EKG, pulse oximeter monitor, surgery, and antibiotic, convenia and pain injections.  We contributed $1,000 and received $305.33 in discounts from our veterinary partner.

"From one animal lover to another."
