Pets of the Homeless received a call from a homeless man who stays at a shelter in Riverside, CA. This shelter has a dog kennel across the street for the homeless who have pets. Dazzle, a 6 year old, spayed female Pit Bull Terrier was introduced at the kennel, and unfortunately was attacked by another dog. Dazzle’s guardian called Pets of the Homeless for assistance.
We approved an examination, and x-ray to be sure of no broken bones. Surgery was necessary to mend her bite wounds. Dazzle had bite wounds on her face and leg. Surgery was performed which included an injection, anesthesia, clean and care, and stitch bite wounds, antibiotics and pain medications.
Taking it to the Streets with Lori and Shira assisted with putting Dazzle and her guardian in a motel for 3 nights while she healed.
