Host a Wellness Clinic

The Basics:

Would you like to start a Wellness Clinic in your community?

Grants are available through Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

• Talk to your veterinarian about hosting a Feeding Pets of the Homeless sponsored Wellness Clinic.  Veterinarians and their staff volunteer their time to hold wellness clinics.

• 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may apply with a volunteer licensed veterinarian

• Sometimes local shelters or community centers will donate a room or parking lot to hold the event.

• If a veterinarian is awarded a grant, it will cover the hard costs, like syringes and gloves.  Most suppliers consider offering discounts or 2-for-1 vaccinations when they learn about the cause.

Humane Societies will sometimes offer free licenses and microchips.  Other organizations offer vouchers for spay/neuter.

Hi, my name is Bailey.I'm a 3-year-old Cane Corso and Mastiff mix. Right now, my dad and I are living in his truck because we are currently experiencing homelessness. Life isn't always easy, but we've always had each other. My dad calls me his "gentle giant." I may be big, but I'm all heart. I love belly rubs, especially from strangers, and I make friends everywhere I go.One night while we were getting ready for bed, my dad noticed I kept rubbing my left eye. By the next morning, it had become swollen and painful. He knew something was wrong and felt helpless because he couldn't afford a veterinarian.Instead of giving up, he reached out to an outreach nurse who had helped him with medical care in the past. She told him about Feeding Pets of the Homeless and encouraged him to apply for assistance. After completing a quick online application, I was approved to see a veterinarian. The doctor examined my eye and determined I needed surgery to repair it. After the procedure, I went home with ointment, antibiotics, an e-collar, and plenty of instructions to help me heal. Now I'm back with my dad recovering, and every day I'm feeling a little better. Before long, I'll be back to making new friends and asking everyone I meet for belly rubs.Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $1,963 toward my care.Your support helps pets like me receive emergency veterinary care and stay with the people who love us most.🐾 Lend a paw to help the next pet in need! ...
