Pets of the Homeless received a call from a homeless woman who lives in her car in San Diego, CA with her 6-year-old female Chihuahua, Snickers, who had a swollen cheek. Pets of the Homeless approved an examination.
After the exam, it was determined that Snickers had an abscessed tooth and needed an extraction. Pets of the Homeless assisted with vaccines, antibiotics, pain medications, and flea preventative to begin, as well as an approval for pre-surgery bloodwork at a later date. Snickers had her bloodwork done, and extraction. This included, pre-anesthetic examination, medications, anesthesia induction, anesthesia maintenance and monitoring, recovery monitoring, iv fluids, hospitalization, patient care and antibiotics.
